minor project 12 option 3

minor project 12 option 2

The landscape of this game is vast open woods with lakes, mountains, trees, and towns everywhere. There are many different elevations and huge mountains that take forever to traverse. There are valleys, huge bodies of water, and also small lakes and streams. Crucial to the landscape are the harmless animals that run around adding to the realistic aspect of the game. The towns themselves are medieval. Most houses are made out of stone or wood, and the city structures are primitive yet beautiful.

minor project 11 option 4

            Larry Burnerton was a normal everyday guy. He was pretty boring. He has two kids and a wife. He barely ever takes chances, and he sometimes thinks about how he is wasting his life away. He feels like he always does the same thing everyday, work, then eat, then sleep. His dead end job is not helping the fact that his life is so boring. One night, after falling asleep in his bed, he wakes up in a laboratory.

Minor project 10 option 3

            I would want to be a designer. This is because the thing I enjoy the most is coming up with the concepts for games. Sometimes characters just pop in my head, and I think of entire backstory just for fun. Creating an in-depth, meaningful story, is very fun for me. Also, my favorite types of games are the games where the storyline is outstanding. This is due to good design and deep and interesting characters and back-stories. I love creating fake but compelling situations and I am good at portraying a character due to his or her past.

minor project 9 option 1

Steven is a pretty average guy. One day he went to sleep in his bed as usual and woke up in this maze with bricks in crates. Little does he know that this is a scientific test by the government.  They wanted to see if the average everyday man could pass through these mazes and not give up or die trying. Steve has no idea what lies ahead in these mazes. Hopefully he is determined enough to make it out alive and the seemingly endless brick walls and wood crates don’t break his spirit. The question is, will they let Steve survive even if he makes it?

Final Fantasy 13 uses cut scenes to add depth to the gaming experience. The story of this game is one of the best fantasy stories I have ever followed, without taking in consideration the very strategic game play. It uses cut scenes to tell parts of the story that it could not tell why actually playing the game. Although some parts of the story avoid cut scenes by having dialogue during actually game play. This mix of movie quality segments and in game dialogue makes the story easier to follow allow for players to enjoy the over game experience

Minor project 4 option 2

A game that has realistic graphics: Madden 12; a game that has abstract graphics: Borderlands; a 2D game; a 3D game: Mario; a game that uses first person or third person or both Fallout New Vegas; a game that originally was created for the real world and has been reinvented in "gameworld": Thor; and pick a game that has a vivid, compelling and memorable storyline: Oblivion Elder Scrolls;

Rock paper scissors is a game that has a linear game structure type. There are 2 events that you must do, and you either lose or win. There is no room for creativity or wandering other than which gesture you choose. The events are the chant and the revealing of the gestures and there is no other possible path that can be taken to traverse to the end of the game.
Rock paper scissors should only be a two player game. The best reason for this is because if there is a need to have more players the game can be played in a tournament style of 1 on 1 matches to determine a winner. In a game where 3 players play simultaneously, it is possible to result in a three way tie or other confusing outcomes. What happens when two players choose the same gesture? The addition of more players into a single game adds too much overhead to the game and takes away from the clear cut nature of rock paper scissors

Halo is an example of a game that follows the same logic as rock paper scissors. The different guns you can use give you a clear advantage in most situations, with some fluctuation for player skill. The shotgun often wins over automatic rifle which wins over the burst shot rifle, which wins over the sniper which wins over the shotgun. Although you have to find the gun you want, a player may choose to switch his gun if he thinks more players have the gun that his gun is effective against. Good strategy can help you do well against other players in this game.
The strategy of this game is that every gun has something it can easily beat, and something that it is easily beat by. This is very close to rock paper scissors. It is just not absolute like rock paper scissors is. Which is definitely a positive thing because it video-games the more skilled player should succeed in some cases since their advance level of play. But when it comes down to the basics of the game, rock paper scissors logic is a big part.
